Airport Golf & Batting Center . . . Tumwater’s “Tin Cup”

It has been said by many golfers and batters that “the Airport Golf & Batting Center is the new place to be.” With its remarkable transformation in just a few short years, new and repeat customers consistently experience a comfortable, friendly, professional, and athletic environment.

Jeff Olive purchased the Airport Golf & Batting Center (AGBC) as a family business just a few short years ago. At the time of purchase, it was an older business that was run down and on its last leg, so to speak. Many folks referred to the Golf Center as “The Tin Cup” (the 1996 film where Kevin Costner played a former golf prodigy who owned a run-down driving range with dented, rusty metal barrels as yard markers).

Since the grand opening, Jeff made it a priority to provide new netting, mats, balls, a clean and manicured entrance, a revamped pro-shop with the most up-to-date and quality gear, club fitting, re-gripping, and club repairs. In addition, he made it his mission to work with top of line experts to repair years of neglect on the 9-hole Executive Golf Course to improve the quality of the greens and fairways so golfers would enjoy playing on his course. Jeff displays an impressive collection of signed sports memorabilia representing teams from every state in a variety of sports.

The mission of the Golf Center is to provide a place for families to spend quality time together, build healthy relationships, invest in the youth of this community through sponsorship programs, formally acknowledge our youth and their school achievements and successes, offer training programs, and personal encouragement and esteem builders. Jeff honors our veterans who serve (or have served) our great Nation as well as senior citizens by offering discounts.

Although Jeff enjoys all sports and his business, he truly views this as an opportunity to help others while making a positive impact on the community and all people he has the pleasure of serving, whether it be at local events or those who visit the Airport Golf & Batting Center.
