Aztec Lanes: Get the Best Bowling Experience!

By: Dan Brathovd, Owner, Aztec Lanes

Aztec Lanes has been a family-owned business since 1974. Aztec Lanes started out as “The Bowl” back in the seventies and has gone through many transitions and updates to its current state and name as Aztec.

My grandfather, Dan Ruden, started me bowling in the early 80’s in our youth program, I grew to love the sport through this program and continued to bowl into the adult leagues. Once I was old enough, my grandfather offered me a job at the bowling center doing machine maintenance and. I also grew to love the interaction with the bowlers and started working the front desk, along with learning all of the other aspects of the business.

In the early 90’s, my grandfather asked if I would be interested in operating the bowling center and we put a plan in place so he could retire. We changed the name to Aztec Lanes and did some major remodels to give the center a different feel, sadly my grandfather passed away in 2007 and I took over the business.

We strive at Aztec Lanes to give you the best bowling experience possible. We offer a variety of leagues, tournaments and fundraisers. There’s a great mix of league and open bowling times, and we also offer a fun night out for the whole family with our music and light show every Friday evening from 9:30-midnight. All the lanes at the center have automated bumpers so adults can bowl with their children and the bumpers come up only for the kids.

We are open seven days a week and on Sundays we offer a discounted rate between 11am and 4:30pm for the budget minded customers. We have a friendly staff to assist you and make your bowling experience the best. We also have a snack bar that offers fries, burgers, sandwiches, pizza and drinks.

Our staff at Aztec Lanes will help you with bowling if you ask and give you pointers on how to choose the best equipment for you. Most bowlers will look for the lightest bowling ball possible when they come in. However, if you can throw something heavier you will score better. Most bowlers don’t know that each pin weighs 3lbs 6oz. That’s over 30lbs of bowling pins. If you throw too light of a bowling ball, the ball will deflect off the pins thus resulting in less pin fall.

We hope your visit to Aztec Lanes is the best bowling experience possible and we look forward to seeing you soon.
