Dutch Bros. Coffee Loves on Lacey
Don and Carrie Wall sell coffee, but their mission is far greater than that. As the local owner-operators of two Dutch Bros. Coffee locations in the Lacey area, they believe in the company goal of “Making a Difference, One Cup at a Time.”
Since they opened their first location in 2009, the have poured not only thousands of cups of coffee but thousands of dollars into Lacey-area nonprofit organizations and causes. “I love to give back to the community, because, without them, we’d be nothing,” said Carrie.
Their donations grow as they do, with $6,500 donated in 2011 and $11,000 donated in 2012. For 2013, they have already donated over $8,000 and intend to keep on giving.
To celebrate the opening of their second location this July, they are kicking off with a big community contribution. They will offer all drinks for just $1 and donate every single one of those dollars to SafePlace Olympia, an advocacy agency for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors in Thurston County.
Carrie attended North Thurston High School her junior and senior years, so, when the opportunity arose to franchise, she immediately knew where to go. “I knew that Dutch would be a great fit for the area.”
Don is a Thurston County sheriff’s deputy. Together they have three children: Lukas, 6, Luna, 1, and Layne, who was just born on May 27, 2013.
Dutch Bros. Lacey employs 24 employees at its two locations, located at 7225 Martin Way E. in Olympia and 8229 Martin Way in Lacey.
