Following Automotive Service Guidelines Saves Time & Money
By: Eric Bagley, Owner, Lloyd’s Automotive & Transmission Specialist.
When it comes to cars, a lot has changed during the last four decades, but the quality and care you’ll find at Lloyd’s Automotive in downtown Olympia remains the same. “We emphasize quality service at a great price,” said Eric Bagley, whose all-American success story takes him from sweeping the floors of the well-known garage in 1996, to becoming the owner in 2004.
When their bay doors opened in 1963, the mechanics were committed to taking the best care of people possible, by working on all makes and models of vehicles. During Bagley’s seven years owning the business, they remain dedicated to providing full-service diagnosis, repair and maintenance with a specialization in transmissions. “Our service managers help provide scheduled maintenance and give the customers options of what repairs they want to make. It reduces the chances of major repair later and small investments now can save people big later,” Bagley said.
Regardless of the vehicle, drivers who regularly maintain their vehicle often save themselves time and money in the future. Whether it’s been three months or 3 thousand miles, drivers should service their engine with lube, oil and filter changes. People come in for something simple like an oil change, and Lloyd’s Automotive also does a complete safety inspection. “We give the customer the information they need to make choices of what is best for their vehicle and budget,” Bagley said.
Lloyd’s Automotive provides the following service guidelines to help drivers establish a regular schedule of service for their vehicle:
- Tire rotation every 7,500 miles
Windshield wiper blades every year.
Brake fluid flush every 2 years or 20,000 miles.
Transmission service every 3 years or 30,000 miles.
Transfer case service every 3 years or 30,000 miles.
Front and rear differential services every 3 years or 30,000 miles.
Power steering fluid flush every 3 years or 30,000 miles,
Fuel injection system cleaning every three years or 30,000 miles.
Engine tune-up every three years or 30,000 miles
Coolant flush every four years or 40,000 miles.
These service intervals are for reference only. With today’s newer cars, these guidelines may not be applicable. Refer to your owners manual for your vehicle’s specific maintenance needs.
