Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel Expansion – The Excitement is Building!
When the Chehalis Tribe approved plans for a huge expansion of the Lucky Eagle Casino earlier this year, the timing was perfect. The casino first opened its doors on June 15, 1995, and the ability to continue to add extraordinary amenities puts an exclamation point on the success of the first 20 years.
“It’s amazing to look back on our past accomplishments while actively building our future,” said Lucky Eagle Casino CEO John Setterstrom. “The vision of tribal leadership continues to be a big factor in our success.”
Plans call for a 41,000 square foot expansion of gaming, food service and support spaces, 8,600 square feet of administrative space, and a 120,000 square foot parking garage.
“We’re very excited to enhance the entertainment experience of our guests,” Setterstrom added. “This project will introduce features never before seen in the gaming industry in the Pacific Northwest.”
In addition to expanded gaming areas, the project will include a new sports bar & grill, increased meeting and entertainment space, and a new player’s club and lounge. Another important feature is the way in which the parking garage will sit above the casino expansion, enabling guests to go directly from their cars to the casino floor without a long walk or exposure to the elements.
“The collaboration between the casino management team, general contractor Forma and the architects has been great,” said Bob Guyt, Principal of Rice Fergus Miller Architecture. “The result is a design that will create great new spaces for guests, simplify traffic flow on site, and have minimal impact on existing casino operations during construction.”
The project is expected to have a positive economic impact in both the short and long term. Local jobs have already been created during the initial phase of construction, and more will follow once the new areas are fully operational.
“This is great news for the Chehalis Tribe and our surrounding communities,” Chehalis Tribal Chairman Don Secena said.
20 Year Anniversary Celebration
June 15th marks the exact date of the Lucky Eagle’s 20th Anniversary, but the celebration will continue all month long with exciting games and food specials.
The anniversary has a board game theme, and everyone is encouraged to visit to play, dine, and enjoy the fun décor.
Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel is owned and operated by the Chehalis Tribe. The casino features more than 1,100 slot machines, blackjack, craps, roulette, keno and bingo. The 171-room Hotel is connected to the casino.
