Spring is here
Spring is here, with swimsuit season just around the corner most of us want to look good when we step out onto the beach; but by this time of the year we are all tired of trying to achieve this year’s Resolution of losing weight. So you might be asking “What can I change or do to lose that last bit of weight?”
Well if you already go to the gym or workout at home, you might want to look at how you are doing your workout. Are you doing the same exercises week after week? Your body gets use to doing to the same motion that it quits burning fat efficiently, so try something new! Are you upping your weight limits and changing how you do your reps/set? You need to push your limits; you will be surprised at how much you can do or lift. Are you doing your Cardio efficiently? You need to pick a different piece of equipment each time you do cardio (Bike, treadmill, elliptical or Row machine). Also do interval, sprints, or jog at a steady pace.
The easiest way to fix or help you get new ideas is to hire a personal trainer; they will be able to set you up with a personalized program so you don’t have to do the thinking when you’re at the gym, you just have to follow the program. A trainer will assist you to get past that plateau and get you moving in the right direction. Also remember when you’re looking for a trainer or an online program that the trainer is a Nationally Certified Personal Trainer.
The second thing you need to look at is what you are eating. What you eat is 80% of losing the weight. Question to ask yourself, do I eat a lot of processed foods? How much sugar am I having? This includes sugars in all food not just sweets. Are you eating three meals and two healthy snacks throughout the day? You should be eating every 3 hours. You don’t need to starve yourself to get the body you want; you need to feed your muscles so they can burn away the fat. So how do you do this? All you need to do is start making a food journal so you can see how much you eat and at what time you eat it. You also need to take a couple of hours and prep all your meals for the week. You might feel overwhelmed the first couple times but it will get easier and you will see the results you want.
