[27 Jul 2018 | Comments Off on Taqueria La Esquinita . . . What Is Authenticity Anyway? By Carlos Camargo | ]

There’s a city in north-central Mexico called Ciudad de Queretaro, the hometown of Owner and Executive Chef of Taqueria La Esquinita, Erick Gutierrez. It’s an ancient city that predates the Spanish Conquistadors and features agricultural settlements dating back to 500 BC. A city riddled with unique cement homes and old European style architecture where no two walls are the same color. The people of Queretaro are friendly, family-centric, and hardworking; typical Midwesterners. It’s here where Chef Erick developed his values as well as his taste for truly good, honest Mexican …

[30 Oct 2017 | Comments Off on Gluten Be Gone! – by: Rachel Young, owner, Miss Moffett’s Mystical Cupcakes | ]

In six years, so much has changed . . .
I’ve been baking cupcakes since 2011, when I started in my home kitchen as a stay-at-home mom, inspired by the legacy of my great grandmother. I’ve taken many risks, had my share of up’s and down’s, been on national television, taken on employees, and expanded to three locations. There have been many moments when I’ve wondered if the risks I’ve taken would pay off.
While some of the risks have paid off, like the decision to open a storefront in the Capital …

The Northwest is already one of the most beautiful places to live and it is an inspiration to all who live here. It’s pretty hard to compare with the natural beauty that is found in our state with its majestic mountains, lush evergreen forests and countless rivers, lakes, streams and waterfalls. We really could never replicate that beauty but we can be inspired by it. In fact, most people live in the Northwest because of the beauty and joy that it brings to daily life. Otherwise, why would we be …

[30 May 2017 | Comments Off on How Much will my Remodel Cost?? John Erwin Remodeling, Inc. shares great guidelines to help you get started! | ]

That is a question that I am asked frequently. It is one of the hardest questions to answer. Without more information it’s about calling your favorite car dealer and asking them how much a new vehicle will cost you, without clarifying that you’re looking for a truck with all the options or a new sub-compact economy car. Like a new vehicle, there are countless variables and options in almost every remodel or home renovation project and each one of them have a dollar sign next to it.
The first thing you …

Who doesn’t have clutter? Most of us have a degree of clutter, some more than most. Some ignore it but many are frustrated with the mess but just can’t find a way to deal with it.

Why Do People Have Clutter?

Work – Many hours of the day are devoted to a full-time job leaving little time to deal with putting away things at home.

Kids – This is two-fold. Taking caring of them leaves little time for anything else and kids themselves can create mounds of clutter in a matter of …

By now I think just about everyone on the planet has heard about “green this, sustainable that”. The fact is, just about every major manufacturer from auto makers and building suppliers have all been developing and improving their products in order to provide us better, cleaner, more energy efficient products. There are many different levels of “sustainable” or “green.” some are quite complex with a large upfront investment and can take years to re-coup the initial up front cost– others are simple, easy and not all that expensive. I want …

Did you know that all 32 NFL Teams have chiropractors on their staff? Did you also know that Active Release Technique (ART) is the preferred method of treatment NFL chiropractors use for keeping their athletes in superbowl-ready shape? In fact the Seattle Seahawks have not one, but two chiropractors certified in ART who help get our team in the end zone.
What is ART? Think of Active Release Technique (ART) as massage’s upbeat cousin that works harder, faster, and more efficiently.  ART helps athletes ranging from runners and triathletes to NFL players and …

I graduated from South Puget Sound Community College with a Liberal Arts degree with an emphasis in Pre-Nursing. During the first quarter of the nursing program, I found myself conflicted about the use of medications in western medicine. Not that there is not a place for medication, but the over emphasis on pharmaceuticals really bothered me. I did not want to push medications, which mostly mask symptoms, I desired to find the root of illness and help people get well.
Through a turn of events in my own family, I ended …
